Crank

Crank reads like a poem book. In it, she chronicles the turbulent and often disturbing relationship between Kristina, a character based on her own daughter, and the "monster," the highly addictive drug crystal meth, or "crank." Kristina is introduced to the drug while visiting her largely absent and ne'er-do-well father. While under the influence of the monster, Kristina discovers her sexy alter-ego, Bree: "there is no perfect daughter, / no gifted high school junior, / no Kristina Georgia Snow. / There is only Bree." Bree will do all the things good girl Kristina won't, she will do anything for a quick fix.She was more into drug then her school work so her grades started to drop, and her friends and family slowly started pushing away from her. With her family and friends steady push away from her this made her depressed so she more of the monster just to get through the day.I haven't read that much, but I feel she isn't worthy of praise because she not doing thing worth being praised for. She's hurting her family and friend and ruining her life.I feel like if she continues to mess around with stranger just for the influence of the monster, she going to end up hurt or worst dead somewhere.

Week 9 push

I am going to read Precious Push (Sapphire). This book is about a girl name Claireece  Precious Jones who was a high school student and was poor, she was raped by her father and was fat and unloved. She was pregnant with her father's child for the second time. She can't read or write, and her schoolmates tease her for being fat. When she's not getting raped and impregnated by her father she’s getting sexually, physically, and verbally abused by her mother. She even gets pushed around by strangers on the street. Even though Precious has a rough life she takes it on day by day with a smile on her faces and love and her heart. I found myself rooting for Precious, caring for her, right away. That's partly because even though Precious guards herself by shutting down whenever her mother is around, we can always see what's crackling beneath the girl's surface. What amazed me was how her mother could choose a man’s love over her own daughters and especially sense that was her only child. Her mother even talked about precious baby a BABY really what did she every do she didn’t ask to be and the world. I loved how even though she wasn’t as educated she still pushed herself and when to an alternative school. The teacher was very caring and so was the student I was amazed at how much everyone wanted to help her and cared for especially the teacher because you don’t usually see that. What made me cry was the end when her mom tried to embrace as a daughter and then tell her that they had AIDS that really pissed me off. Overall I think this book is going to be very interesting.
